I met Monique during her time working as the Social Media Associate at 1871. Along with her undeniable talent and incredible writing skills, Monique was an absolute joy to work with. She is a true team player and always manages to foster positive discussions and bring out the best in other employees. She has a collaborative style that makes you feel like a partner in whatever you are doing.

During her time as a volunteer with the Chicago chapter of the Freelancers Union, Monique shared her knowledge and gave us helpful insights into how to use social media to boost attendance and increase engagement with our members. She was instrumental in jump-starting our presence on FB, using Eventbrite to increase attendance, and spreading the word about Chicago Freelancers Union. I found her prose refreshing and creative as well as to the point.

Monique was a graduate assistant, assisting me to teach and facilitate the first-year undergraduate course “Media and the Creative Process” at Ohio University. Monique was a welcome addition to the team. She was professional, imaginative and worked exceptionally well with her students and with her colleagues. She understands the fundamentals of media production, and the theory to explain the practice. She is thoughtful in the way she approaches students, clear in her instruction to a class, and a great colleague when it comes to divvying work and responsibilities. All around, a great person to work in the classroom!
